Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center

Sharp Chula Vista Medical Center
Chula Vista, CA

Phase 1
On this phase of the job (2) 8-fan Tower Tech cooling towers were used to replace the overly corroded Marley towers. These units can handle anything between 800 GPM and 4,800 GPM. With the capability of this fluctuation on flow-rate, there will be huge savings on BHP and electrical costs. Tower Tech is constructed of fiberglass (FRP) and Stainless Steel, has a 15 Year Warranty on the structure, and has OSHPD approval.

The self-flushing VAF Filtration Units were also used on this job. It is a true filtration unit with a 50 micron screen and is self-flushing when the Pressure Drop thru the unit reaches the limit it is set to, which is usually 8 PSI. Whether what is being filtered is heavier or lighter than water makes no difference to VAF, which is not true for the centrifugal “separators” that call themselves filtration units.

Phase 2
This phase has added one more identical Tower Tech cooling tower and a VAF filtration unit. There are tremendous upgrades and improvements making it a whole new modern Medical Center and has more than doubled in size.
