On this job (2) 10-fan Tower Tech cooling towers were used. They are on their own loop, but given longer legs to put their system water level equal with the Evapco units on the other side of the wall that are having big troubles. There is a common piping between the loops in case the Tower Tech needs to be used to handle the other loop. These 10-fan units can handle anything between 1,000 GPM and 6,000 GPM. When the load requirements fluctuate, there will be big savings on BHP and electrical costs.

The self-flushing VAF Filtration Units were also used on this job. It is a true filtration unit with a 50 micron screen and is self-flushing when the Pressure Drop thru the unit reaches the limit it is set to, which is usually 8 PSI. Whether what is being filtered is heavier or lighter than water makes no difference to VAF, which is not true for the centrifugal “separators” that call themselves filtration units.
